To ensure we can best serve all visitors, we kindly ask that you register for any visit you make to Art Omi, indoors or outdoors. One registration is required per vehicle group.

Same-day registration is available online. If you have not pre-registered for your visit during weekend and holiday hours, we strongly recommend calling in advance to make sure there will be space.

Groups of 20 or more people, or any amount of people arriving in a bus or oversized vehicle, must register in advance of visit via a separate form, available here.

Visitors to Art Omi are encouraged to experience the Sculpture & Architecture Park through self-guided exploration. These guides are designed to help visitors orient themselves, and learn more about the exhibitions on view.

Sculpture & Architecture Park Guide indicates the location, title, and artist of all current exhibitions in a map designed to empower visitors to plan their own path. Printed guides can be picked up at the Benenson Center.

Explore More Guide for kids & families highlights sculptures and installations that encourage interactivity, like touching and climbing. The Explore More Guide is designed especially for people visiting the park with children.

The Sculpture & Architecture Park is accessible on foot throughout all weather, all year long. If seeking to experience all of the artworks on view, one will traverse grassy fields, forested paths, hills, and footbridges. There are no paved walking paths, and occasionally the trails become muddy and sometimes even impassable. Ticks, poison ivy, mud, and other natural hazards may be present. Be prepared with sturdy footwear and appropriate attire to best enjoy your experience.

Winter weather
In the event of snow or other hazardous winter conditions, the Benenson Center will follow the closure schedule of the Chatham Central School District. The Sculpture & Architecture Park will remain open. If conditions allow, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are permitted in the park with your own equipment. No rental equipment is available. Trails are not groomed.

Accessibility
The Benenson Visitors Center, Newmark Gallery, and restrooms are accessible to wheelchairs.

For visitors seeking a mobility friendly way to experience the Sculpture & Architecture Park, we offer Golf Cart Accessibility Loops from April through October. We are unable to offer Accessibility Loops in our Off-Peak Season as golf carts are unable to traverse muddy or icy terrain. This free option is a roughly 45-minute loop with a six-person golf cart, which can accommodate five visitors, driven by a trained Art Omi Staff member. In order to ensure staff and golf cart availability, we please ask that requests for Golf Cart Accessibility Loops be made at least two weeks in advance.

Requests for Golf Cart Accessibility Loops can be made here.

Kindly note, if you arrive without registering in advance we will do our best to accommodate requests for Golf Cart Accessibility Loops, but may be limited by our resources available on the day. For more information, please email info@artomi.org.

Call (518) 392-4747 if you have questions about scheduling an accessibility loop.

Art Omi offers pastries and beverages on Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays year-round from 10 AM—4 PM inside the Benenson Visitors Center. Visit our Cafe for a snack or beverage to accompany your visit! We also now offer beer and wine available, both available for purchase; please note, these must be consumed inside the Benenson Center.

The Benenson Visitors Center, which houses the Newmark Gallery, the Visitors Services Desk, and restrooms closes periodically for staff development, Art Omi: Education Programming, inclement weather, or other events. Please see our list of scheduled closures, which will also be notated on our registration page.

SATURDAY CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP IN THE NEWMARK GALLERY

On Saturdays from 10 AM–12 PM the Newmark Gallery hosts Art Omi: Education Children’s Workshops. Visitors are still welcome to enter the gallery and view the exhibition during these hours, but may prefer the quieter environment offered outside of these times.

Art Omi is located in a rural, residential neighborhood. We ask that our visitors respect the character of the area by observing all local speed limits, driving cautiously, and parking only in designated areas. We ask also that visitors respect all park boundaries and signage, and be respectful of the quiet our neighbors have come to enjoy.
